This region of the eastern Mediterranean, where Greek, Turkish, Cypriot, Lebanese, Egyptian, Israeli and even Syrian territorial waters mingle, has been the object of a veritable oil rush for several years. These resources, which could forge new energy powers, whet appetites. After a visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades on September 13, the exploration mission was suspended and Turkey agreed to resume diplomatic talks ...
