First, you could use them as eyeglasses to look at the golden plates that were mysteriously placed in the ground. Then you could just use a single slightly opaque rock from your driveway and that will work as one too. Finally, an egg-looking petrified piece of poop could also be used but you don't look through that one. The translations magically appear on the stone and you don't even need the plates.
