ARTE Documentary: Russian Cowboys l ARTE Documentary

Teacher or professor: ARTE Documentary
Subject: Science
Content of the Lesson: In Russia, thousands of miles from Texas or Wyoming, cowboys drive a huge herd of 10,000 Black Angus cattle through the Russian countryside. This is the Far West, Russian style. In the "Russian Far West" the cowboys of Suprjagino work throughout the Spring with one of the largest species of cattle in the world. For nine years, brothers Alexander and Wiktor Linnik have worked to bring Russia into the steak age. The two brothers produce around 150,000 tonnes of meat a year, part of which is exported. They even founded a school in which "real" American cowboys pass their experience on to Russian beginners. Hear their story today.
