Content of the Lesson: It's impossible to talk about Cleopatra without addressing her legacy. Content of the Lesson: Most systems that give unilateral control to a single person tend to include some pretty steep penalties if that person abuses their power. So what if the president misbehaves? What are the systems in place to try and prevent presidential corruption? The answer is... they are few and far between. With Unitary Executive Theory, there is very little incentive for the president NOT to abuse power. After all, most of the committees responsible for oversight work for the president and can be dismissed for any reason, creating a large conflict of interest.
