I Heard the ISS Talk to Earth Using HAM Radio!

Licensed Ham Operators in the US (and elsewhere) can contact the astronauts on the ISS as it passes overhead. If not otherwise occupied, the astronauts like to talk to us here on earth. I overhead a conversation between a Ham and Astronaut Nichole Ayers. Due to the speed of the ISS (7.64 km/sec) there is a significant doppler shift and getting a strong signal is a challenge. I have a proper antenna now and will attach it to my telescope mount. With the new radio I should be able to contact them myself in the near future.... stay tuned.
