Russia/USA: Behind the Ice Curtain I ARTE.tv Documentary

In Alaska, in the city of Nome, Etta Tall longs to be reunited with her family. They're in Russia, where they've been ever since the border closed in 1948. This is the story of one Inuit community, and two very different countries. Two pieces of inhabited rock, one in Alaska, the other in Russia: one on each side of the Bering Strait, a territory forgotten by history, where the Inuit live. A border of less than 90 kilometers separates the United States from Russia, and indigenous peoples, torn in two by the Cold War, have never met again.
