Storage Stars: a 17th Century Flower Tower
Welcome to our brand new storage facility: the Netherlands Collection Centre (CC NL)! To celebrate the opening, we asked location manager Wim Hoeben to find a hidden treasure in one of the depots. He invited curator Femke Diercks to tell him all about the 17th century flower pyramid Wim dug up. This is Storage Stars! πΌπ· CC NL brings together four important national collections, belonging to the Netherlands Open Air Museum, Het Loo Palace, the Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) and the Rijksmuseum. Around half a million objects are stored, ranging from paintings, craftworks and furniture, to jewellery, clothing and clocks. You really can find everything here! πΉ But the most important question: where would you put this flower tower? πΌ️ Flower pyramid, Delft, c. 1700.
