Did A Historical Jesus Exist? Godless Engineer vs Stephen Boyce

Today, I am debating Stephen Boyce on whether Jesus was historical or not. Boyce claims that he does exist in history and I'm claiming he probably didn't. We both have various reasons to support our positions. He seems to think that Jesus is as well attested if not more so than other characters in history, ie Socrates. He also seems to think that the Gospels were written much earlier than they actually were and they were also composed of eyewitness testimony. This is by far the worst defense of the historicity of Jesus I've encountered. We spend a lot of time talking about the specific Greek words used to describe brother and the distinction between disciple and apostle.
