Bangladesh: Keeping Head Above Water I ARTE Documentary

WATCH: Honduras: Climate Change Refugees https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJPJq1pT1uk&list=PL-eZcc0GI8-XrdG8Uif4XK4KZHO0uIryk&index=23 Bangladesh is on the frontline of climate change, a low-lying nation affected by both coastal and river flooding. Every year, new cyclones keep hitting Bangladesh, causing massive floods. As if the annual storms and masses of water were not bad enough for Bangladesh, experts say that two-thirds of its territory is likely to be threatened with extinction by 2050 - thanks to rising sea levels, due to climate change. This would displace 40 million people from the sea and turn them into climate refugees. Many people in Bangladesh are trying to escape this fatal fate. They are already building floating hospitals and schools there, and they are trying to equip agriculture for the future. The ARTE reporters tell the story of three people in Bangladesh who are not giving up hope of being able to brave the floods in the future. 🗓 Available until the 19/12/2022 ARTE Documentary is here to tell you more about what’s going on in the world of culture and current affairs with powerful, refreshing and entertaining docs subtitled in English for our international fans.
