And yet, most of us drink far too little of it. Independent bodies have confirmed time and again that, most of the time, tap water is at least as good as bottled water from the supermarket. But still, many still shy away from drinking from the tap. So, the consumption of bottled water has been increasing for years . And more than half of it are from disposable plastic bottles. This means mountains of plastic waste and a poor CO2 balance. For these reasons, "Xenius" presenters Pierre Girard and Dörthe Eickelberg, decide to take a closer look at water from the tap. What are the dangers of tap water and how does it affect our soil? How is tap water actually produced and how is its quality and safety ensured and monitored?
