Today, the term liberalism is mainly associated with extreme inequalities. These inequalities appear to divide society. But what is the difference between capitalism and liberalism? Doesn't liberalism basically also embody a certain conception of social justice? According to critics, the market, trade and private interests accept environmental degradation in order to keep the economy going. Are the markets blind to this mechanism? Is liberalism tearing mankind into the abyss - or can it be reformed in terms of “green” growth? Gaspard Koenig, born in 1982, is a philosopher, essayist and novelist. He has been teaching at SKEMA Business School since 2018. The advocate of liberalism is President of the 'Generation Libre' think tank he founded in 2013. Elsa Faucillon, born in 1981, is a French politician and has been an activist of the French Communist Party (PCF) since 2006. In 2014 she was elected councilor of Gennevilliers. In 2015, she was elected to the council of the Hauts-de-Seine department. She has been a member of the first constituency of the Hauts-de-Seine department since 2017.
