Daughter of a communist mechanic from the small town of Sevnica, she had big ambitions from her early years. A portrait of a mysterious first lady and icon of conservative America. Once upon a time there was a little Slovenian girl, Melanija, whose precocious beauty inspires her father, who dresses her, shapes her and sends her to parade in the country's beauty pageants. The fairy tale might have come to an end when, overnight, the little girl who became an architecture student disappeared for three years without anyone being able to say where she flew to or what she did. When she reappears in New York, Melanija, now Melania, was 26 and too old to be a supermodel. But her meeting with Donald Trump, twenty-four years her senior, in a Manhattan cabaret, prolongs the fairy tale. The wealthy real estate developer gets her a work visa and masterminds her appearance in magazines. In 2015, when her husband launched himself in the race for the White House, the woman that some of the public saw as a trophy woman also became a weapon of mass seduction charged with attracting female votes. In 2016, her plagiarism of a Michelle Obama speech ridiculed her and dismissed her from the stands, but then she successfully turned to charity ... The Melania mystery Does the First Lady, champion of family values, play the role of woman-object or does she influence Donald Trump in her political choices, as well as part of the American electorate - especially female voters? To answer this question, Laurence Haïm, a former correspondent in Washington, surveyed conservative America of which Melania has become an icon, to hollow out the portrait of one of the most mysterious First Ladies in American history. We meet her first boyfriend as well as the fashion photographer Alé de Basseville, who famously took the naked shots of Melania which resurfaced in 2016. The director also follows "Trumpettes", women dedicated to the cause of their hero and also Christina Hagan, who took part in the congressional race for the Republican Party.
