Content of the Lesson: Stretched over nearly 2,000 kilometers between Denmark and Norway, Sweden is characterised by the variety of its natural landscapes, from the southern countryside to the forests further to the north. While two-thirds of its territory remains snow-covered for much of the winter, its wide seafront is framed by sandy beaches to the south, and superb rocky archipelagos, especially on the west coast. On the Baltic side, the island of Öland is a paradise for migrating birds, when the valleys of Skåne, in the far south, are the granaries of wheat and milk for the country.
