ARTE Documentary: Journeys to the North: Lapland I ARTE Documentary

Teacher or professor: ARTE Documentary
Subject: Science
Content of the Lesson: Lying beyond the Arctic Circle, Lapland covers several hundred thousand square kilometers, straddling Norway, Sweden and Finland. To the west and north, along the Norwegian coast, it spreads into thousands of islets. It's a dramatic landscape of forest, ice and sea. Winter here can last almost eight months. Tucked away under snowy terrain, these often desert expanses are the territory of the Sami, the only indigenous people in Europe, and, especially since the 17th century, that of the Finns and other Scandinavians who gradually settled here. Available until the 29/11/2020 ARTE Documentary is here to tell you more about what’s going on in the world of culture and current affairs with powerful, refreshing and entertaining docs subtitled in English for our international fans.
