He started worshiping other gods and you know how much God hates getting sloppy seconds or whatever place he was in. God decides he's not going to take his anger out on Solomon but on Solomons heir. The whole sins of the father kind of thing. So God pays a couple mercenaries to mess with Solomon but ultimately Solomon's son is going to lose everything.
