Content of the Lesson: Hello Socratica Friends! We have a very personal question to ask you: Do you love to read? Reading has made such a huge difference in our lives - it really has changed our lives many times, and always for the better. But sadly, many people fall out of the habit of reading when they leave school - that is, if they ever had the habit in the first place. Let’s talk about how to build this very healthy habit! First, don’t force yourself to read something you think you really SHOULD read. Think about what you LIKE to read. Pick a genre that excites you - mystery, sci-fi, whatever you like - and start there! Pick a book, and take it with you wherever you go. That way you can sneak in a few pages here and there, when you’re waiting in line, when you’re having a coffee break. You’ll be surprised how much reading you can do when you give yourself the opportunity. If you find you’re not crazy about that first book, that’s ok! Don’t force yourself to finish a book you don’t like. There are SO many books out there, and you’ll never read them all. Put down that book and pick up another one. Keep trying! Share your reading quest with a friend who knows you well. Ask for book recommendations!
