European Space Agency, ESA: Multiscale Boiling

Teacher or professor: European Space Agency, ESA
Subject: Astronautics
Content of the Lesson: The Multiscale Boiling experiment recently conducted on ESA's 71st Parabolic flight campaign studies boiling process in altered states of gravity. While the boiling process on Earth takes place quickly, in weightlessness the liquid to vapour phase change happens more slowly, allowing researchers to study this seemingly simple process in greater detail. Understanding heat transfer will lead to precise models to create more heat efficient products.
