Rùm: The Forbidden Scottish Island | ARTE.tv Documentary
At the heart of the Small Isles archipelago, the majestic and untamed landscapes of the Isle of Rùm are characteristic of the Highlands of Scotland. A nature reserve with more deer than people, it was inhabited by a large Gaelic population until the middle of the 18th century. Sent to the new English colonies, it left only traces of stone behind. Rùm was nicknamed “the forbidden island” and now has only about forty residents.
