In 2021, more than 84 million people became refugees, forced to flee their country. Around half of them were women. But the obstacles they face are far more difficult: they often have children in tow, and are vulnerable to exploitation and sexual violence. There are few facilities that cater specifically to the needs of female refugees. A group of volunteers are determined to change that.
