Although this huge scavenger plays an essential role in the ecological balance of Asia's wetlands, it still has a bad reputation. In India, it is considered a bad omen and its nests are often destroyed. But a group of local women are trying to save this misunderstood bird by forming a grassroots organisation, the Hargila Army.
