Navalny: Russia's Most Famous Prisoner I ARTE Documentary

WATCH: Russia: Protests Against Putin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxHNPQgDo6s Locked up in one of the country's toughest prisons, a "penal colony", 100 kilometres northeast of Moscow: Alexei Nawalny, Russia's most famous prisoner, is to be neutralised in this way, apparently according to the will of the master in the Kremlin. Nawalny's movement, however, is trying to regroup after the wave of arrests in recent weeks. Among the 10,000 people initially arrested across the country was Anastasia Pantchenko in Krasnodar, southern Russia. The city of millions is the administrative capital of a region on the Black Sea. It is there that Vladimir Putin is said to have built himself the palace whose existence was uncovered by Navalny. Our reporters accompanied the young leader of the Navalny movement. "Nastya" is determined to fight government corruption alongside the young activists who grew up under Putin's regime. By imprisoning its main opponent and suppressing the demonstrations, the Kremlin has arguably helped to embolden the opposition in Russia. 🗓 Available until the 14/03/2024 ARTE Documentary is here to tell you more about what’s going on in the world of culture and current affairs with powerful, refreshing and entertaining docs subtitled in English for our international fans.
