She and her comrades-in-arms are firmly in exile. President Lukashenko, Europe's last dictator, has closed the borders. We go behind the scenes of a feminine revolution and show the heart of this start-up revolution, fuelled by social media such as the short message service Telegram. Above all, it's the well-educated Belarusians abroad who are actively helping to keep the revolution alive from afar. Exile, exodus and the inner circle of the Vilnius Group: Besides the well-known freedom fighter Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and her office manager and friend Maria Moro, numerous students from the Belarusian University in Exile live in the city. Sabina, for example, has just turned 19 and wanted to study law in Lithuania's capital Vilnius. Now she fights against Lukashenko and his regime as a news presenter. Sabina cannot return to Belarus, as the secret service has made it clear to her that they are watching her. And Lukashenko has made good on his threat: the western border with Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania is closed. Apart from goods and diplomats, no one can get into the country any more, only the crossings to Russia are still open. The most visible leaders of the Belarusian democracy movement are women. This is because many male leaders have been locked away by the regime. Like Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's husband. Instead of him, she then stood as a presidential candidate. What was initially born out of necessity turned out to be a great move: the autocrat in Minsk underestimated the power of women. They see themselves as part of the democratic world - and leave their homeland for it.
