Content of the Lesson: Apologist Frank Turek says that atheist scientists made up a certain idea for the sole purpose of denying the teleological argument and rejecting god. That idea? Hugh Everett's Many Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics. Yeah... he's way off. In a previous video, "'Atheists can't answer this question' ...But We Can'" I discussed Frank Turek's misrepresentation of scientific concepts like DNA replication and natural selection. This time, I'm addressing his misrepresentation of what he calls the "multiple universe theory" or the "multiverse theory." Through the examination of Turek's rhetoric here, it's easy to spot some key differences between theology (and apologetics) and scientific fields. If you want to dismantle the idea of the multiverse, you might want to take that up with the work of Sean Carroll, Stephen Hawking, and the like.
