Content of the Lesson: Feb-August 1918, the Spanish Flu arises in Haskell Co, Kansas and moves with the soldiers of the First World War to Camp Funston/Ft. Riley, throughout the armed services and on to the trenches of France and Germany before expanding to the rest of the World. Known as the '3 Day Fever' or 'La Grippe' it sickens many, interferes with combat operations but has relatively few deaths. News of the illness is suppressed by the warring nations (Sedition Act of 1918, et al), it is widely reported in Spain resulting in the name 'The Spanish Flu'. We examine and study the lessons of the Spanish Flu in light of our current Covid-19 Pandemic.
