Apparently, he thinks LGBT people can become straight, and if they can't, they should be celibate. He thinks Christians should "help" family members to do this. Now, not only does the relevant scientific literature show that gay people can't change sexual orientations, but that LGBT people are best off when their families and friends support them. I think this shows how little many Christian apologists actually care about science when it becomes problematic for them. It turns out that his advice on LGBT issues is even worse than his "gotcha" questions for atheists. -------------------------------------------FOLLOW------------------------------------------- Twitter: https://twitter.com/gm_skeptic Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GMSkeptic/ Discord: https://discord.gg/mzTy2Sm London event: Tickets: https://fixr.co/event/542838415 Video about event: https://twitter.com/MimzyV/status/1151291589806964737 -Links- Turek's video: https://youtu.be/P0jYYwow71E Family acceptance predicts better mental health https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0,44&q=lgbt+closet+mental+health#d=gs_qabs&u=%23p%3Def50pXOrC8YJ Social stigma positively associated with psychological distress and peer support moderated this in trans people https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=10&q=lgbt+closet+mental+health&hl=en&as_sdt=0,44#d=gs_qabs&u=%23p%3DsNz4bLHL0z8J Those who have higher rates of internal homonegativity and/or encounter negative reactions report more mental health problems https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=30&q=lgbt+closet+mental+health&hl=en&as_sdt=0,44#d=gs_qabs&u=%23p%3DkYvfiamIBLwJ Family acceptance is positively associated with well-being and negatively associated with mental distress.
